Working room unclean?
Just a short time ago it was very chaotic in Zimmer 72. The good old Powermac Dual 2Ghz G5 (serving since 2003) died (at least the Logic Board) and lots of system components, memory modules and cables were put everywhere as I was searching for the source of the failure. After it was clear that the mac does not work anymore (g5 r.i.p.) and the preliminary cost estimate of an Apple Service dealer (the repair would have been too expensive) was no solution, I began to search for a substitute Powermac. There are fantastic Mac Pro machines available - but it was not planned to buy one of these now - also I wanted to go on with the production of the KiEw-album "mental [per]mutation" as fast as possible and a switch to an Intel machine would not have been positive in all cases for me. After a while searching I found an used Powermac G5 (Late 2005 model with 2Ghz Dualcore G5 and liquid cooling) with 2 years warranty for around half of the price that I would have had to pay for the repair of my old G5. The new machine is now working at Zimmer 72 - the hard drives from my old Powermac were just switched over to the new Powermac without any new installation. Only drawback: my Universal Audio UAD-1 DSP-PCI-card does not fit anymore - the new Powermac has PC-express slots (if someone wants to give away his UAD-1e(xpress) please contact me!).
So:
Working room clean! Ich liebe Sauberkeit!
